Consultation on Admission Arrangements 2026/27 - Post 16 provision only
In line with the School Admissions Code, Cathedral Schools Trust (CST), which is the admission authority, is consulting on the admission arrangements for children who will be admitted to the Sixth Form effective from September 2026.
Proposal: The school uses an on-line admissions portal supplied by an external provider to administer and process applications to its 6th Form. The proposal is to amend the wording to better explain the application process including how provisional offers are made, and how confirmation and enrolment takes place. There is also clarity as to how late applications and applicants with non-standard qualifications are treated.

The consultation process will run from Friday 6th December 2024 to 12 noon on Friday 31st January 2025.
It is important to emphasise that this is a consultation process and that all views will be heard as part of this consultation and arrangements are not agreed until after the consultation has taken place. For pupils already enrolled at Bristol Cathedral Choir School in other year groups, there will be no change. These are the only proposed changes; admissions criteria will remain unchanged.
Comments are not being sought on the rest of the arrangements.
If you would like to comment or offer feedback on the proposed admission arrangements please complete the form here, ticking the relevant box to show which school your comments refer to. Please note responses received after 12 noon on 31st January 2025 will not be considered.
If you have any queries or requests for hard copies of the admission arrangements please contact Mrs Juliet Turner, Admissions Lead, Cathedral Schools Trust via email: enquiries@cathedralschoolstrust.org
Year 7 2025 entry
Open Evenings for Year 7 2025
This page contains a brief summary of the application procedure for Year 7 entry in September 2025.
In order to be considered for a place applicants must name Trinity Academy as a preference of secondary school on the common application form (CAF), direct to the local authority in which you live. The CAF will be available mid-September 2024.
Trinity Academy has a published admission number of 180 students for Year 7 entry. If the number of applications exceeds the admission number, students with an EHCP in which Trinity Academy is named, will be admitted before others.
Where there are more applications than places available, places will be allocated in line with the over subscription criteria, in order of priority, as set out in the published admission arrangements.
We strongly advise parents/carers to read the relevant admission arrangements before making an application to the school and the documents that are available on the Guidelines for applying to Year 7 2025 page.
We also advise parents/carers to come and visit us during one of our open events, details of which can be found on the Open Event Information for Year 7 2025 Entry page.
